## **FIP Mission**

The First-Year International Program (FIP) is a pre-orientation program for international students and US residents who have lived and studied primarily overseas. During FIP upper-level international student leaders mentor first years, introducing them to Harvard and helping them adjust to life in theUnited States. Specifically, participants receive foundational information fora happy, successful start at Harvard, including sessions and discussions aboutUS and Harvard culture. Participants also receive support with practical matters like setting up a bank account and cell phone service. Through its emphasis on inclusion and belonging, FIP fosters a sense of community among incoming students and cultivates the larger international community at Harvard.
